Marudai, used for braiding a multitude of strands. I am sure this would be an exhaustive list, but for just a quick example, embroidery flosses, yarn, threads with beads, ribbons, animal hair, grasses, well, most anything that can be had in lengths of strands.
I hand turn all pieces of these, and sand and buff to a shine. When finished, I add only a thin film of wax on the otherwise plain wood, for these warm lustrous looking tools.
Reminder NOTE; Even though I show some pictures of different ones, the one that you receive, will likely not look exactly like any in the pictures. Wood has a character of it’s own, and even 2 pieces from the same tree, do not look just alike. Also, since I do these each by hand, there are a lot of variables that will cause them to not look alike. What I am trying to say, that each is the only one just like it, and it is not at all like getting some manufactured item from a shopping center, or a plastic item online elsewhere.
